Solving the problem with our FOOD SYSTEM.

You don't have to be perfect when it comes to diets,it's about making the most out of what you've got. In my opinion, we have a challenge when it comes to the accessibility and affordability of healthy foods. The trends of expensive fast foods are increasing and its about time we carve out time to cook or to be able to access more healthier options. No one wants to pay 15cedis for a sad looking saladšŸ˜­, rather, you could buy the ingredients for salad worth 15cedis which you would last for a whole week. Letā€™s look at the macros for both foods (taken from McDonaldā€™s and M&S websites) Cheeseburger 300 calories 13g fat 33g carbs 15g protein Chicken Salad 243 calories 10g fat 13.5g carbs 20.5g protein Thereā€™s really not much difference is there? Around 50 calories, thatā€™s all. One benefit of the salad is itā€™s higher volume so it would take you longer to eat and you would feel more satisfied for longer as a consequence. Another is its micronutrients will be better. Thereā€™s been a lot in the press recently about convenience foods being the reason we are,in general, getting fatter. Stop trying to blame outside influences for your weight problem. You can choose what you put in your mouth. If you chose the burger enjoy it. If you choose the salad please do so. Get out and move some more. Be more mindful of the quantities of food you eat and the amount of time you spend moving, and take responsibility for your own actions! I believe No food (you enjoy) should be cut out of your diet if you are trying to lose fat. It leads to disordered eating and a bad relationship with food. The only sustainable diet is one you enjoy which means eating the foods you enjoy. Note that you don't need 15cedis salads to qualify you for healthy living.
