Often I hear people that they want to start eating 'HEALTHY' especially to lose weight and for other various reasons. Truth is healthy eating is not always about a strict dietary elimination because some food that are very healthy are high in calories example Avocado, sweet potatoes to mention but a few.
Healthy eating is about eating all the classes of foods in the right proportion to have energy and improve health.
To have a healthy diet, you don't need to eliminate the foods you love most, you only need to have it balanced.
I believe in the 90/10 food rule i.e 90% of food that contains all the food essential foods especially plant based foods and 10% for treats once in a while.
No one food group in isolation can be blamed for weight gain - overconsumption of calories and a sedentary lifestyle are more likely the culprit!
The key to healthy eating is BALANCE.
